Carp Fritz – Best Fly Fishing Flies
The Carp Fritz pattern we are discussing here belongs to the legendary South African fly fisherman, Sean Mills. This man has been pursuing Carp on fly for a long time now, since the 1990’s in fact, and has caught 1000’s of Carp on this fly that he has coined. The way Sean Mills ties this fly is unique, as he uses the parts from a bath chain plug as the eyes. The predecessor to the Carp Fritz, was the Carp Bugger, but Sean realised that, not only was the Carp Fritz easier and quicker to tie, but it also produced even better results.

Where To Use?
Sean Mills states that, the Carp Fritz is best tied in black and red, as this imitates the colours of the Carps main diet, being midge larvae and bloodworm. This is definitely one of the many reasons why this fly is so successful. Sean Mills has a few DVD’s and PDF books that can be purchased, showing you how to be successful when trying to catch Carp on fly, and how to go about it. The Carp Fritz also catches Bass, Barbel, Yellowfish and even saltwater fish species such as Moonies, Mullet, Blacktail and Karanteen. It is a great fly, and every fly fisherman should be using the Carp Fritz!
